The KAT5s (unless something has changed) do not transcode ... what goes in
is what comes out. Feed composite in and you get composite out, feed
s-video
in and you get s-video out. If you're using SCARTs then you shouldn't need
to worry and just set the SCART output of your DVD player to composite
rather than S-Video.
