Knekt KAT5?

We have previously discussed Kat5 interoperating with Linn's knekt
system which I know is not on the cards.
BUT
What if I could connect the output of the Knekt switch to an input on
the KAT5 switch, and the KAT5 switch knew that an input on X means
direct it to output Y then I could effectively control KAT5 from the
Linn RCU's.
This might seem a bit mad, but I already have the linn stuff so it's
no extra expense. Keith, I know you plan on the switch being
programmable to some degree, so maybe this is possible?
Not necessarily directly either - eg, is there some sort of X10
module that could be hooked to the balanced audio output of a device
(eg KAT5 xmitter or Linn device, as they seem to use the same sort of
levels as demonstrated by the gent with the classik) or even the
normal phono outs (though balanced out _is_ preferred) which could
then send K5:ON or whatever, to be picked up by HomeSeer/HV etc,
which would then tell the Kat5 switch to direct input X to output Y?
This is not a Linn only solution either - I'm sure some of the HA
bods could think of a use for automatically switching a source to a
destination - eg PIR detects movement @ front door, so X10 webcam
input to KAT5 switch triggers it to direct this input to the front
room TV.....
For me it would mean all outputs of Linn Direktor go to all inputs of
KAT5 Switch. In dining room, I select the DVD on the direktor. This
causes the dining room output on the direktor to output a signal,
which the KAT5 switch sees and immediately routes this input to the
dining room KAT5 output. This way I get switched audio + video + RCU
control of the lot + of course, I don't have to ditch my knekt!
Thoughts peeps?
cheers,
Tony
