Hi Keith,

I'm a bit thick really. I haven't got a direkor. I keep on mixing up
the terms.
I have the intersekt which is the equivalent of your switch.
This feeds line receivers or direkors, equivalent to you kat5 receivers.
The intersekt links to everything else by cat5, sending balanced audio
&
control info.
As (forget his name now!) on the list discovered, the balanced audio
seems 'compatible' with your balanced audio.

Okay so your switch cannot detect a/v input. But it will detect scart
switching signals.
If I could cause the presence of a balanced audio signal (taking a feed
off the intersekt) to generate the required voltage for scart switching
(this is in fact not a million miles from what I asked in ukha_d about
trying to get the presence of audio to trigger my amps on - they need
9-12V to power themselves up rather than being left permanently on.
Sadly everyone jumped onto X10 solutions of turning on/off the power
socket at certain times. Okay it'll work, but not quite the elegant
solution I was looking for :( ) then could your switch be programmed
such that having received a SCART trigger on input X, it would always
automatically output that to output Y.

This would mean if I have all a/v sources connected to the intersekt,
with each output going to your switch, then when I choose 'DVD' on the
control keypad for the kitchen, the intersekt sends the DVD audio to the
'kitchen' which is a Switch input, which then sends the audio and video
to the kitchen KAT5 receiver.

It certainly helps the WAF to have only one device to switch all
sources, and the RCU's are rather nice anyway, so it would seem a rather
elegant solution if the switch can do as described.

If it can, the next question of course would be 'how do I generate the
correct switching voltage from line level audio? :)

Sorry for the confusion.

Cheers,

Tony
