I personally wouldn't care what colour the boxes are - the functionality is
more important to me.

On that note, given your "installed base" of Mk1 users, have you
considered
releasing the upgrade for MK1 units whilst you attempt to source cases for
the
MK2 units? After all, us Mk 1 users already have cases and we'll have to
butcher them to add the daughter boards - in that sense, the Mk2 units are
of
no interest to us until we wish to purchase more units.....

There was mention on Keiths site of a DIY KAT5 unit some time ago, but I
believe the relative complexity of the devices/specialist equipment needed
to
test them properly would put them out of reach of most amateurs.
Basically, if you know what you're doing then you probably know how to
build
your own model from scratch :-)

I would suggest also that to release all info on the units would impact any
future commercial possibilies, since any old joe could copy them....

I'm sure Keith is shuddering at the prospect of his lovely PCB's being
"ported"
to a veroboard as we speak :-)

All IMO of course,

cheers,

Tony.
