Going Cat5

OK seems like it's a good idea for me to go down this route..... I have a
basic plan but am looking for supply of modules and feedback.

A quick google has given a list of some products
(<a href="http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=audio+visual+distribution+over+CAT5&ie=UTF";>http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=audio+visual+distribution+over+CAT5&amp;ie=UTF</a>
-8&amp;oe=UTF-8&amp;hl=en&amp;meta=)

but can any CAT5ers comment on on quality ?
Background....

A/V sources will be located in 2 rooms [ Living room bulk AV equipment and
Box room computer eqipment where SWIMBO has indicated my exhile ]

I'm typically looking at

(1) SCART sources distributing to multiple rooms but what is the quality
like / interference ? : Module recommendations ?

(2) SPDIF/Coax distribution from both sources Module recommendations ? Or
maybe I just send the sigal over CAT5 directly.

(3) IR will not be required since my HA system will be managing that.

(4) USB extension / VGA over CAT5 / RS232 over Cat5 some of these are
possible but where do I get the modules ?

Think thats what I'm looking at for the moment.
Any comments would be most welcome.

MTIA.
Shaf
