JDS TimeCommander Plus - the best way to go?

I wonder if any of you HA'ers could give me a bit of advice?

I have had a JDS TimeCommander Plus running for about 2 years now
performing
basic lighting control and occupancy simulation. I would now like to add on
to it wireless IR motion detectors to replace and extend the wired ones I
am
currently using. Which are the best? (I am using RF linked radio switches,
do the IR detectors transmit to the same 'Powerhouse' RF receivers?)

Secondly I would to integrate into my system speech synthesis and
recognition for control functions. Does anyone have any experience of
Homevoice or HAL (seems very well specified, but does it work???), or since
I will be leaving my PC running anyway would some other non HA specific PC
package be better for voice recognition?

Finally I would also like telephone control of the system (with local
control as a 'nice to have').

Having looked around for a few days now I am unsure whether to continue
with
the JDS TC+ or start again with something like JDS Stargate etc.

If anyone could give me any pointers or advice I would be most grateful.

I will of course pass on my experience and findings over the next few
months
via the distribution list.

Cheers...

Sean
