Modern F1s are sequential, as is the Caterham Blackbird, Westfield
Megablade
and the humble MCC Smart car.

Mark - just to confuse things even more - there are a couple of tiptronic
style implementations kicking about that use manual boxes coupled to torque
convertors - the benefit being they are less jerky.

Ferrari's semi-automatic gearbox is reputed to eat clutches in a few
thousand miles. Not heard whether Alfa's implementation (which uses the
same
technology) is any better...
