I want to connect a beam break device which outputs 5v to a pin to HV. This
device works on 9 volts for most of its circuitry. Assuming I am using port
B on HV I assume I simply connect the output from the device to a port and
connect the -ve of the device to the gnd terminal on HV port B. Is this
correct before I actually go and do it. What I want HV to do is detect when
a voltage appears at the output and then take an action.

Thanks

Ian
