Title: More Newbie questions....
> Firstly aimed at some of the
locals -
Mark etc. where's the best place to buy the conventional hardware - wire,
sockets etc?
Try
www.letsautomate.com Mike is
now
stocking CAT5, patch panels etc. In Belfast you could also try "Euro
Cable" They're in the Harbor Industrial Estate. On the sockets
front
I HIGHLY recommend Clipsal gear. Look at http://www.Clipsal.co.uk The stuff is
available through City Electrical Factors all round the UK (and also
"Balantines" in Belfast). I know Mike is also trying to get Clipsal
to
sell on LetsAutomate.com.

planning
any get togethers - I'd appreciate a hands on chat to convince me to take a
deeper plunge, and some practical tips and advice / encouragement, face to face.
YES! We hope to organise
something in the next week or two. There are SIX HA nuttersin NI now
:-)
> intend as mentioned to start with 'Comfort' and build
the
system from there.. perhaps going to home vision, I need some advice to
make the
system > rdwired and designed to
make
this 'upgrade?' as painless as possible, or will I ever need to go down
this
route?
I
am a bit of a dullard when it comes to programming. I had HomeVision
first. If I had Comfort first I may not have bought a HV (although I
wouldn't be without it!). Together they make a great system.
You
need an alarm so buy Comfort. It's a no-brainer. See how you
get on
with it and in the future you can add HV if you
want.
