This makes sense I guess. - I similarly haven't done any scientific
testing,
in fact my testing comprises purely of monitiring an incoming call in
Windows Hyperterm.
I only have my Hayes Accura modem as my caller ID display device - I didn't
get a free display box from BT when I ordered my service... :-(( so I
haven't tested with any other device. Also, in my tests, I have only used
my
mobile to make the incoming call, so I wonder if that could make any
difference? - could different networks provide the CLID data at different
times?
Does anyone who sees their CLID before the first ring see this with a
modem?
or is it only the dedicated display boxes which show it first?
If it appears before the first ring on a modem, then what make/model? - If
necessary I would change my modem for another if we can establish that a
given model makes this difference.
Cheers.
