Hi Paul,

I got the same results as you, but with a modem. I suspected that it was
the modem that was outputting the data that way.

I have just tried again using 2 different caller ID units , both BT, one a
CD50 the other was the yellow/blue Value Plan freebie. I rang the line and
in both cases the CLI did NOT appear until AFTER the first ring. This
contradicts what Patrick said in his post. Maybe there are different
revisions of the Highway box or it could be down to the make of line card
in the local exchange.

Beats me, I will ask some questions on the newsgroups at work. If anyone
knows the definative answer it will be there ;-)

Now this is getting _really_ confusing! - I would prefer to have the CLI
before any rings, but on mine it definately doesn't appear until after the
1st ring.

Does anyone know if this is a configurable option? - Is there anyone at BT

could ask to change this?
