So you are in the trade then :-)

Your job title is either Sales Manager or HA Consultant after getting 5 new converts :-)

BTW extremely dangerous is a great label, thanks Keith.  I'm dangerous with other people's money, enthuasiasm is contagious, five of my colleagues now own ePods (oops) and a good number are into X10.  Finding the time to get this stuff working together is the problem I have...

I can picture the scene now....

the next edition of Crimewatch.....

"Have you seen this man? He is known as PHIL JOHNSON. He is wanted in
connection with charges relating to Impersonating A Home Automation Trader.
If you have seen this man do NOT approach him. He is extremely dangerous.
He can turn off your TV or change the channel whenever he
desir<channelchange>SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"   :-)

If they do bar list members, they will be alienating much of the
established HA market in the UK. There will obviously be companies there
who consider Home Automation to be something with a starting price tag
>?20,000.

There is a market out there with people willing to spend over 20K but it is
a very small one. The REAL market for HA is the people shopping as
LetsAutomate and Laser etc. They stock many varied items covering all
budgets. And more importantly, systems that evolve as you can afford to
spend a bit more. There are several people on this list who have spent
thousands on their HA and entertainment kit, but not by going out and
writing one big cheque. They have added bit by bit.

I havent received any tickets yet either. If we did get barred then I'm
sure we could find a suitable hostelry nearby and hold the "Real UK Home
Automation conference" :-)
I'm also pretty certain that they would get some pretty negative publicity
as well.

I believe that the exhibitors will learn a lot about the potential market
by talking to the likes of ourselves. The only things holding us all back
are the limited range of items available and the price of some of the kit
that is available.

If any of the organisers subscribe to this list, we've blown our cover!

Did someone discover the details for this event or did the organisers
contact Mark M? If it was the latter, they are probably expecting
enthusiasts too :-)

What's the worst that they can do, turn me away at the door (I hope
that's all they can do).  My interest in attending is to see what's new,
get an idea of what I can do with Home Automation (that I haven't learned
already from this and other groups) and to meet the good folks from UKHA.

I'm only down the road, so if they turn me away, a daytrip to London to
do some shopping is not such a bad thing.

It looked fairly clear that Joe Public was >not< going to be let in.

One of the benefits of owning a Limited Company ;)

    > can't see them filling a exhibition with  HA traders alone??

We may just be the largest group there. :)
