As i said before, each application has an optimum solution.

LCD works by BLOCKING light and as such has a lousy black level but can be
extremely bright. CRT/Plasma work by EMITTING light. Black is JET BLACK.

LEP - Light Emitting Polymer is about to burst on the scene but it will be
a
few years before it is perfected.

At the moment these are what I would choose....

Direct View TV - 32" or 36" W/S CRT
WOW factor in designer home - 50" Plasma
Home Cinema - CRT Projector (with Line Doubler etc)

Computer on a reception desk - LCD Flat Panel. ( Looks impressive, small
footprint) not intensive use by operator

General computer work eg word processing - 17-19" CRT

Programming or CAD work - 21" or bigger CRT

Travelling sales rep - portable LCD/DLP Projector - easy setup and bright.

Presentation room (high ambient light) - Serious LCD Projector (BARCO 6400)

Presentation room ( controllable light levels) - Serious CRT (Barco
Graphics)

As always, I acknowlege that others have differing views. the above list is
what *I* would choose. In fact its what we use at work.
