I've
actually got an S-Link! Had it about two years. It worked very,
very
well although I used my own software, not the sw he supplies. I used
it to
control 2 x CD players.
I
may
be persuaded to sell it as I've moved all my stuff onto MP3 and actually
given
one of the players to my brother.
I've
also got four IR receivers and two IR transmitters to go with
it.
Make
me an offer!
Andy
Take a
look at http://www.minidisc.org/ and
you
should find some home-brew alternatives under the hacking and
experimentation
pages. I'm sorry I can't be more specific but I don't have web access at
the
moment (The company's ISP has lost routing capability
:-).
I
was
browsing the site this morning and noticed a couple of links to slink
projects.

Hi
This box of tricks here
(https://www.nirvis.com/orderform.htm) goves you access from , say , your
pc
to the slink port on sony cd players - anyone know of a cheaper one you can
buy ?
$250 seems damn expensive
-
especially as this product does far too much for it's own good !
