:-) It's the price you pay for safety! I suspect that unless you're looking
for the 'emergency button' you could probably get hold of something a
little
cheaper from Maplin.

Having a think about your door problem - would a mechanism from a butchered
TV
and video cabinet do? I had one on a glass door cabinet that seems to be
what
you're after.
