It does read tags but puts them into the Description field. It is primarily aimed at managing the media and content not playing MP3s or generating playlists etc. If you want to do that then you'll need something like MusicMatch jukebox:

but this is probably best suited to MP3s on hard disk rather than CDRs

I use a package called "Where is It?" to catalogue all my CDRs for Midi, data, backups, MP3's etc. It's available from :
