I haven't left mine on for a long period of time yet, but I certainly
intend
to. However it is not possible to get them to turn off just the screen, so
that you can wake them with a screen tap. You can set a time after which
the
backlight will go off and you can set a time after which the unit will shut
down, but that is it.
