I think you're probably right, Dan.

Looking at the TLC site, they too make reference to "1 or 2 gang
wallplate" - meaning it's the size of single backbox, but can support
1 or 2
RJ45 sockets.

In any case, thanks for everyone's comments - confusion rectified - I'll
get
the wallplates ordered up today.

I thought a "gang" was a 'socket'.  So a single gang power point
has a
single plug socket, whereas a dual gang cat5 point would have 2 ports but
obviously fitting within a standard UK sized single socket...

Have I made this up??
