I had a read of the article and I admire the ingenuity and effort gone=20
into
the curtain automation achievement.
But it really didn't cost =A310, it probably cost 20 times that amount in
valuable labour time spent doing the job, not to mention the
disgruntled wife/girlfriend who (usually) gets the job of cleaning the
dining room and clothes of oil from the motors. No matter how carefull we
are we always spoil something:)

There is another option available here. You can get the CM80 add-a-motor
from us for =A382 + VAT + P&P inc. 240/12v adaptor
and you won't get the slightest bit oily from it and it works using the
existing pull cord and X10 appliance module or
using a timer from Argos.
