Sure ... you have a DDS3 tape there (as it says 24Gb on it). I have a DDS4
drive here at home so I can pull that off and cut it to CD for you no
problem.

Do you know what OS it was created with Win 95/98/NT/ME? I have all these
OSs installed on various machines here so it's just a case of moving the
DAT
drive between machines if necessary.

Drop me a line at my personal email address if you want to discuss further

I'll be back online this evening. (phillip.harris1@xxxxxxx)

Subject: [ukha_d] OT: Help - DAT Drive

Hi there guys.....

bit of a weird request this, but thought this was a good place to start
since I trust peeps here a bit more than the internet at large ;->

We have a guy who has just joined our company who brought with him info he
needs, from working in a previous location (financial records etc). The
problem is its all on a DAT backup tape, using MS Backup (!!!!). We only
have AIT drives here and don't want to buy a DAT just to get the data off
this tape.

Is there anybody who would happen to have a DAT drive which could read this
tape and copy the data onto some CDRs (the tape says 24GB but I'd guess
there will be no more than 2GB on it, if even that!)

Obviously happy to reimburse postage/media/time costs etc.

Alternatively, any suggestions of somewhere that would provide this
service?

Hissing Hub:-

The nightshift guy opened it up and said the large cap looks like it has
horrible gunky black stuff on it, but has decided to leave it till it
fails,
then send it back for a replacement!

Cheers....
