Bear in mind that once you add the PC card expansion pack it doubles the
size. There is a CF based 802.11 card due out, but I'd hate to think how
long the battery would last with that. The PC card expansion pack has a
battery in it which powers the card.

Tim.

NO, I had assumed that you needed the AP :)

All I really want is 2 cards ( one pc-card, one isa or pci) one for my
notebook, and one for my linux router. And the ability to route tcp/ip from
the peer-peer using the NIC in the linux box. If all I need is the two
cards, I think I will give it a go :)

The Ipaq with a wirless network connection opens up a lot of possibilities
that I hadn't thought of :) In my 'Ideal' HA system, I had thought of
getting status information like email waiting, icq messages, cctv camera
feeds thru the TV. But this solution is even better as it doesn't annoy
SWMBO as much :)

Did PC-World have many of them left Mark? :)

But as Tim would say, are you sure you need the AP?

Er, Q3 for ours I believe, but it'll be part of an 802.11b/ADSL/DECT
device.
However, the firmware bit is done by our chip vendor, Intersil, whose Prism
chipset is used by just about every man and his dog.
