Looks like catch 22 then.=20

It certainly is the reason i have never puchased a uk x10 module. Yet i h=
ave approx 30 X10 units here.

Having briefly worked in uk retail i seriously doubt homebase have made a=
ny loss on the x10 kit overall.

Steve.

May be. But until the trade price for the X-10 products fall
substantially, European X-10 product prices will remain high compared wit=
h
the US. Currently, a single company in Holland controls X-10 prices for
almost the whole of Europe. With the demise of Home Control in the UK,
prices are likely to go up instead of down.

Furthermore, not all X-10 products are the same, despite the fact that
they look and feel similar. For example, the HR10 (wireless handheld
remote) in the US uses a simple RC circuit for frequency control whereas
the European version uses SAW (a more accurate and expensive component).

I agree but that would apply to almost anything. The prices charged by
Homebase is well below cost price. There is little chance that any of the
HA companies in the UK can match that if it is to survive.
