Phil,

If your deteriorating aerial is on the roof then you could try this....

I had similar problem...our house is four floors high, and all the=20
aerial people in yellow pages said no way.
I phoned OnDigital and said that I had an aerial on high roof, but=20
reception was bad, they said fine, get the box and if it doesn't work=20
we will fix aerial.
Got the OnDigital box, put it in and immediately told them that it didn't
w=
ork.
They had to get specialist (who could cope with heights) who then=20
came and put up completely new aerial and cable for fixed price of=20
=A340.

OK I have t  also pay =A310 per month for one year for the box, but=20
total cost is still less then getting new aerial.

Now signal is so strong I have t  have 12db attenuation, otherwise=20
old video refuses t  work!!
