Can't remember exactly which one it was that I was looking at but I think it was a four port PCI card ... once I'd got shipping on there it was about £95.

The BrainBoxes cards are damned expensive ... always are ... however www.netshop.co.uk do some nice 2 port fast serial PCI or ISA cards for about £30 ... I looked at byterunner but once we'd got shipping in there then they were getting expensive again.

Hi John,

The Digiboard ones are great but pricey. www.digi.com

Check out the Brain Boxes cards. They have 2, 3, 4 and 8 port versions. Nicely priced too. A 2 port PCI card is 129 quid from RS Components but you can get them cheaper. Only 399 for the 8 port and comes with all the popular OS drivers.

Don't think this is OT, but anyway,

I am running W2K and in desperate need of more serial ports to control all the gadgets.
Can anyone recommend any add-on cards?. I have looked at some, but these all seem t be several hundred pounds?!?!
A card with min of two ports needed, but more would be better.
Any suggestions? (of any kind)

cheers

John
