All

Since installing W2K, I've had t replace the internal modem as it wasn't
supported by W2K. I got the Elsa Fun USB modem, but it insists on picking
up
call when the line rings. AFAIK, I've disabled anything t do with
auto-connect, remote networking etc etc in W2K, so I figured it was a
problem
with the modem. I've now got as far as disconnecting all other phones, and
the
modem now ignores the ringing, which leads me t suspect it's a REN
problem,
but, the total load when everything is connected (excluding the new modem),
is
only 2, so I should have lots of spare, unless the modem for some reason
has a
high REN.

Any ideas? Am I barking up the wrong tree with my REN theory? I didn't
have
any problems with the old modem picking up calls...

Thanks, Pete
