RE: Now Comfort new install was Alarm Failure
Title: RE: [ukha_d]Now Comfort new install was
Alarm F
I also
use Comfort, ACE and Homevision all together - and AWI + CWI if
that helps - I have also written my own software for the Comfort
UCM.
Programming Comfort takes a bit of getting used t - much
easier t think in terms of Macros and Instruction than Responses and
Actions - just doing that makes it a lot clearer. Whilst it isn't
intuitive it is very flexible and powerful (frighteningly so).
There
is a lot of overlap between HV and Comfort in terms of the functions
each can provide but you will soon find that they compliment each
other really well - and most tasks divide themselves quite clearly and
logically as to where they should be coded. My own view is to
try and keep Comfort as security based as possible and make use of the
i/o features, voice and keypads if you require them for control
purposes.
Kevin
Mike,
Mike at Let's Automate has both running together; he
may be able t give you some pointers.

Well I've returned from Andrew in Chester with a Box
load of Goodies
Just assembled everything in the main panel ready t
install tomorrow
Andrew knows his stuff and has a great little set-up
in Comfort
There are a couple of demo systems up and
running
And its easy t see what each bit does and its
purpose
I still think there is a massive overlap between
HomeVision and Comfort
I'll tell you how I've sorted mine when its
finished (that will be about 2003 !!)
My biggest worry at the moment is disconnecting my
present alarm and tracing all the old circuits
Especially the outside siren
Andrews given me a few hints lets hope I don't annoy
the neighbours too much
