typical c***p t keep someone in a job..
When you start your car,
there
is a bloody great spark generator in the starter motor. None I know off are
sealed and all use brushes.
And what about all the other switch
contacts you might use before moving off.

the case with my phone, the battery is slightly loose, then there is the
potential for a spark. Sparks + petrol fumes =
explosions.

fair, this has never happened on a European forecourt, but that was the
thinking.
