Thanks a lot Mark, Paul and Phil.(sorry haven't replied earlier)

SWMBO was very surprised when I t ld her I was going t send her shopping!!!

She became suspicious when I t ld her it was t homebase -*grin* - I think she expected somewhere more exciting.
However she was good, and went and got a couple of minitimers, PC kits, Timer kits and Remote kits.
She also got a Response Video sender @ £39.95, which doesn't seem reduced and which doesnt have remote control( that one is called Videosender+ I think - they didnt have any stock). Do you think i should take it back?
Also there were no response cameras at the reduced prices - maybe all the stores don't have the reductions?!

Mark - how do I download the demo from homeseer? - sorry! - I t ld you I was a newbie!!!

Hi Vijay

The prices are so exceptional that you can't go wrong with any of the stuff!

The PC kit is an interesting and quick way t get into computer controlled HA.  The "ActiveHome" software supplied with the PC Interface is a bit pants and if you get it download the demo from www.homeseer.com and give it a try.

I am a complete idiot ( i think you all kindly call it a newbie!!) at HA and
have been looking at some of the sites - esp Mark McCalls and Keith Doxey's
( both of Whom and all the others who have such fantastic HA setups, I take
my hat off t and who I hope will give some advice when I can ask some
intelligent questions). I joined ukha_d a few days ag and was following the
Homebase thread. Please can someone tell me what kit or kits t get if a
local Homebase has them? Should I get a minitimer, or the PC kit or the
Remote Control Kit or the Timer Kit, or would you advise t get all?
Thanks
