Re: Well OT : Post Office

Back in our first flat (which was a rather nasty Repo, in which the guy
came
back and kicked all the doors in, thankfully before we moved in)

We lived in complete hope that at least one of the "we are sending the
baillifs round" messages for the previous owner would come true.

We figured, if they did forcibly hammer the door down, we would get a free
new door whenever the mistake was discovered, and seeing as we needed and
couldn't afford a new door on our own.... :)

alas, they baillifs never arrived....

Ian.

Filter them, yes easy - the bin. Or write on them 'Not at this address' and
pop them back in the post box.

We have had this for our current property & a pair of flats i let.
Never
seen a bailiff yet.
I imagine they would have to really check the person they want still owned
or occupied the property otherwise they would be in serious trouble.

Does anyone know whether the Post Office will filter mail? We get more
post for the previous occupants (and not just junk mail) than we do for us.
It's illegal for us t open it t return it or let the senders know that
they have moved (IIRC) as we ae not the legal recipients.

One letter we did open (due t the stamping on it saying something like
"Final Notice") was the son of the owner prior to the previous
owner having
an outstanding parking ticket that had become a £3,500 fine and this was
the
bailiffs telling us they would be gaining entrance to sieze goods by
legally
approved force!

We have no forwarding addresses for any of the previous owners and so want
to find some (legal) way of stopping and returning mail for the previous
owners.
