I will probably leave the dimmers along with a spare if I moved. They
should be just as reliable as any other dimmer system.
This is also because I will have momentary clipsal switches in normal
positions, so it will all work without a controller.
Or you can could simply link them out in Node 0, leaving the extra
wires in place.

It  should come from the lighting circuit as this is the power for the
lamp/s.
I think you would want the lights to work even when the ring main
sockets have tripped or been switched off!!
