It's
called colophony, it's a fume that comes from the flux in multi core
solders -
it affects people who have a mild asthma - induces severe - you need to
have a
test done to see if you are susceptle.

A word of warning about soldering.
It
seems some people are allergic to something in the solder and they develop
severe asthma after just one exposure. We have strict rules at work
now
about only allowing certain people to use solder and then with
complicated
extractor systems to remove the fumes.
