That's a great point John! I think this is one of the main reasons Windows
gets such a bad name. One of the girls in my office has had her PC for
three years without so much as crash never mind a Windows re-install. She
uses about 3 applications on it, never installs/uninstalls any other
"crap"
and it runs like a dream.
My "Mark" and "Eddie" machines in the study have LOADS
of stuff on them and
generally have been formatted and re-built every 6-12 months.
My "Otto" machine is the house HA server - and that's it. As you
can see
it's very stable. I wouldn't try and use an "all-purpose" PC to
do the HA
stuff and all the other PC duties.
