Re: Split aircon unit, info required
Not exactly the answer I was hoping for...but
thanks anyway Phil, at least I know now!
Do you think I'll need to take any tools
(spanners
etc) to seperate the 2 halves before they'll go in the car?

Not
a hope in hell!
Take
it out of the box and it'll fit fine but forget it in the box unless you
have
a van...
Phil
Sorry for all the questions...this is the last
one...how big is the box the split unit comes in? will it fit in my honda
civic's hatchback?
got my portable one packed back up and in car.
So i'm now ready to start scouring the north west for a split
one.

I'll take out half a brick when I put them into
the garage (AV room) but for the time being will chop a lump out of the
bottom of the patio door.
Phil
The 8cm hole is required if you want to pass the detached pipe
through a wall. The other option is to leave the pipe connected and chop
out a small rectangle (55x25mm) from your window frame (that's what
I will do). I have never heard of an 8cm drill bit or a drill capable of
driving it so I would assume it is a hammer and chisel job (i.e. knock
out a few bricks and then make good afterwards) if you want to go
through a wall.
