If you save the box you can probably use it as a garage for the Honda Civic :-))

Take it out of the box and it'll fit fine but forget it in the box unless you have a van...

Sorry for all the questions...this is the last one...how big is the box the split unit comes in? will it fit in my honda civic's hatchback?
 
got my portable one packed back up and in car. So i'm now ready to start scouring the north west for a split one.

I'll take out half a brick when I put them into the garage (AV room) but for the time being will chop a lump out of the bottom of the patio door.

The 8cm hole is required if you want to pass the detached pipe through a wall. The other option is to leave the pipe connected and chop out a small rectangle (55x25mm) from your window frame (that's what I will do). I have never heard of an 8cm drill bit or a drill capable of driving it so I would assume it is a hammer and chisel job (i.e. knock out a few bricks and then make good afterwards) if you want to go through a wall.
