Not sure if its up your street but I use a 4 channel RF solutions transmitter/receiver works up to about 250m (actual in one spot it works at over 800m) that gives relay outputs, in my case i feed it into homevision.

I want to setup remote control lights for my mother-in-law who is in urgent need of a hip replacement and unable to get around easily.

I got my own parents these modules some time ago and they're great.  However they don't have a wall switch replacement modules, only plug in ones.

The other option is this one...but it does only wall switch and no plugin modules.

Anyone know of a non-X10 system that gives RF or IR control of both table and ceiling lighting?

Thanks

M.
