Re: Pronto Probs

I've been reading up the discussion forums on remotecentral.com and seems like a lot of people have had similar problems, but not quite this one - after fiddling around with the battery it sits charging for up to 30 minutes, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes, but then it just starts flashing wildly and nothing will get stop it flashing short of messing around with the battery again.

I still haven't managed to get the pronto turned on yet using the battery pack!

Thing is, becauae the battery pack fits so tightly in the slot, there is not much leaway to push it horizontal and then gently slide it up as recommended - just traps the fingers.  Using screwdriver to do this chews up the plastic around the battery pack :(

So, looks like I'll be returning the battery pack and just use normal rechargables....

Just out of curiosity Keith - you say you had the same problem - how did you cure it?  Fiddling with the battery?

Dan,

I had this same problem when I bought my Pronto a few years back. I thought I would have to return it, but after several attempts it charged ok. The only time I get the flashing light no is if it isn't sat correctly on the docking station.

Cheers,

Keith

Well I finally get my pronto and docking station through today and am having a few problems - anyone else suffered similar things:

- Insert battery pack and start charging - charges okay for 30 minutes, then the charging light starts flashing!  Reseating/cleaning the contacts has no effect.  So....I take out the batteries as per letsautomate's instructions (they inserted a flyer saying that they had battery problems and any charging problems *will* be a wrongly inserted battery).

So, reinsert the battery, pushing *hard* against the springs as LA suggest - same thing - no image on the screen, sits charging for 30 minutes, then death by flashing.

Pronto works fine with normal batteries....

Should I be returning my recharger & battery to LA??
