This is from the 1-wire mailing list. A 1-wire LCD interface with 3 gpio
pins
& 1 input only pin.

Keith, I guess this has got you interested huh :-)

I've got a data sheet from the manufacturer which I am going to put in the
files sections on Yahoo....

---------- Forwarded Message ----------

I have developed a 1-Wire Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) controller.
This 1-Wire LCD controller connects a standard Liquid Crystal
character display to the 1-Wire network. The network master can
then control this LCD in the same manner as any other 1-Wire
slave device.

The 1-Wire LCD controller has the following built-in functionality:

1) Unique serial number.

2) Support for a wide range of LCDs, from 1 Line x 8 Characters
up to 2 Line x 40 Characters.

3) Built-in LCD initialize: to ensure that the LCD is ready to
display text after power-up.

4) Easy text displaying via scratchpad.

5) Direct LCD register and data memory access to enable full
control of the LCD.

6) LCD power ON/OFF control.

7) 3 Open collector general-purpose input/output pins (GPIO)
and 1 general-purpose input only pin (GPI).

8) All inputs have de-bounced (50mS) event counters
(counts up and down going events).

9) Open collector outputs can sink 10mA of current
(direct LED drive with internal 470-Ohm resistor).

10) 112 x 8 bytes of EEPROM (Non-volatile storage).

Interested? For more information contact me at
mailto:louiss@xxxxxxx (Please use the
SUBJECT "1-Wire LCD").

Thank you,
Louis.
