If these units are anything like the powermid ones I had mega
problems with them when the wife was hoovering... the light
(receiver) would flash constantly and no other signals would get
through....

I know it doesn't help much but It may just be something as simple as
that, hoover, lawnmower, one of those puky little mopeds...
