Title: RE: [ukha_d] Pronto HEX question
The only way I can think of doing it is to hand craft a code bit by bit which repeated the requisite number of times - you can't use the repeating code section of the IR code as it needs the button to be held down. I *could* do it but not without being in front of your equipment.

The document you need to download is the one on Pronto hex formats which is in the utilites section of the Remote Central download area.

Tim.

Steve,
Have you looked at this message?
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-pronto/thread.cgi?14065

Might not be of use, but it details the breakdown of Pronto codes.

John

Subject: [ukha_d] Pronto HEX question

One for the Pronto IR-HEX weenies.

I have a learnt code assigned to a button that works perfectly; however as
it is the VCR record button, the VCR needs the button to be held for a
second before it will use the code. No problemo in manual mode, just hold
the button down.

However, I am putting together a 'record from Digibox' timed macro; that
turns on the Digibox, switches channel, turns on VCR, records for a period
of time, then switches off everything (I have a Sony Digibox, so I cant do a
Personal Planner timer cos we never got the download on the Sony!).

Cut to the chase; How to I simulate the 'held for a second' in a Pronto
macro? The code sent from the macro simply sends a single press of the
button, rather than the longer push the VCR needs. I tried sending multiple
presses in the macro, but they to not fool the VCR.

I have looked at the HEX, and there must be a way to encode a 1 second
repeated burst, but I have been unable to find  understandable documentation
for the syntax of the HEX string. I tried all of the IR tools from
remotecentral, but nothing seems to be able to stretch the code as I need.

Can anybody help?

Thanks - Steve

PS - Here are the codes I am trying to stretch; they both work on my VCR (I
am sure one is a cleaner version of the other).
