Having just spend the better part of the weekend (ok, slight
exaggeration but it felt like it) trying to hook up TV, VCR, DVD,
OnDodgy box and the PC/SnapStream in some sort of workable fashion it
occurred to me; why can't all these devices (all but one are digital
anyway) be interconnected with say Firewire interfaces in some sort
of bus system.

I must have well over a 150ft of cables behind the TV and stereo
cabinets and I still can't connect from anywhere to anywhere, i.e.
there aren't enough Scarts etc, so I can't watch OnDigital while
recording a DVD to tape (Ok, that's not likely to happen but you get
the point :-)

Is there anywhere we can lobby for standardised digital interconnects
for all home audio and video? I'd be the first to sign up! :-)

<steps off soap box>

Cheers,
Matt
