Aren't these solutions a bit overkill Andy?

The Powerflash by the way will only allow closure contacts so you can't
just
hook a photocell across the inputs. LDRs onto HVs inputs ... well, wouldn't
you then need the expansion board for analogue inputs too?

I would suggest that Steve's reply sounds sensible ... use the Dusk/Dawn
controller to set an X10 on/off and then use HS to do whatever you want
dependent upon that.

Have you tried Sunrise and Sunset ... does ActiveHome support that (I can't
remember).
