Hi,
Anyone offer some help?
I am trying to make up a digital audio patch cable - I wish to take a
stereo
mini jack to twin phono cable and basically cut it in half and insert
cat5
plugs onto the ends.
I have tried this, which did not work:
stereo jack --> rj45
1 - outer twisted copper screen from red wire
2 - red wire
3 - 6 empty
7 - white wire
8 - outer twisted copper screen from red wire
rj45 --> twin phono wired in exactly the same way.
Does anyone know the correct way to do it?
I did not trim the casing from the red or white cables before inserting
into
the rj45 jacks - I assumed that the crimping tool cuts through this to
the
wire underneath.
Anyone help before I go through the (already short) cable and my spare
rj45
plugs?
Thanks,
-Dan
