Good for you! I only upgrade for important features or
dramatic reductions in size. I upgraded from a Nokia 7110
to an Ericsson T68 for the following reasons:

1) It was about half the size, without a silly antenna that
    used to catch on my pocket
2) It was Tri-band - useful since I go to the US about
    10 times a year and it meant dumping my US company
     phone.
3) It had GPRS and bluetooth - I could use my iPaq to
    do real browsing and email at a half decent speed,
    without lining up IR or plugging in cables. Although
    GPRS is not that fantastic.
