Having just re-read the section, I've realised it doesn't actually point out something very obvious... namely that the KAT5 modules support video as well!

Ahem, sorry about that :-(

Anyway - Jim - the KAT5 modules also support video ;-)

Jim,

There are a variety of options, depending on how much you're prepared to pay (and what quality you want.)

For _structured_ wiring, the CAT5 cable is the best all-round solution. However, you'll need some specific extra boxes at both ends to get the video and audio streams one way (and the IR control back).

For a bit more detail, have a look at the section "Whole House Audio" (which sort of contains video, at least at the proper structured end) in the tutorials section of www.automatedhome.co.uk

Come to think of it, that section does need a bit more flesh put round it on the subject of video.... Anyone want to contribute some text, or shall I do something?

I woud like to pre-wire a house for an equipment closet about 3o feet away from the TV/monitor.

What cable should I use for the video cable...

What is the standard structured wiring cable used for quality video from a DVD being distributed throughout house?

Thank you,

Jim
