Re: OT VIA freezing

i will try setting to optimal settings on the bios and
see if that helps.

Why can't you just install these things and it work. ARGH
These days you have to start scouring the net
and newsgroups to find out why things that should
work don't. All i have in the machine now is a
display card and network card and i have
it is still giving me problems.

The days of "intelligent computers" is nowhere in sight
or should i rephrase that "intelligent Programmers"

have you fiddled with the bios settings?
I had a nice fast win2k machine
then i downgraded to XP and it got very upset with my RAID
a clean install of XP and my RAID returns....but PC crashed intermittently
Went back to bios and reset to 'optimal defaults' and it's okay now
except voice comms in CS is screwed, but there you go.....

Mine is a 1G Athlon and Abit VIA board, GF3 also.

Come back Win2k - all is forgiven :(

When i play any 3d game after a while the comp;uter freezes. Andi have to hard reset the pc.

I have tried pretty much everything. I have switched off
the IRQ sharing, updated drivers, latest 4in1  via drivers.
