Whilst catching up with the pile of New Scientists at work I came
across an article from the 2nd of Feb this year relating to
networking home appliances using the mains as a carrier ala X.10. The
article doesn't mention X.10 by name but references 'exisiting
technologies as being slow - "tens of kilobits per second"'
Apparently the Consumer Electronis Association (CEA) in the States is
running trials with 3 companies putting forward technology solutions.
The companies are Itran from Israel, Inari of Utah and nSine from the
UK (www.nsine.co.uk) and they are aiming to get between 2 and
20Megabits per second....
According to the article the results are expected in April!
Cheers
Allan
