buzz buzz buzz - I wonder why it does?

Peeps,

I bought a parasound audio amp from a chap in the states recently &
naturally it's 110v.
I have a suitable converter (from craplin I think it was) - a two
socket
cylinder jobbie, which has a higher power rating than the usual wall
wart
type step down transformers I use.
Anyway, the amp buzzes rather annoyingly when plugged in & I don't know
if
it's the amp or the step down converter causing the problem.
I don't have any other 110v amps to try with the transformer, though I
did
use my audiotron & had no problems with that.
Also, I don't want to try my other transformers with the amp as they do
not
have a high enough power rating - also, I think they might only support
the
two identical pin type connectors rather than the one larger than the
other
type....

I know it's a bit vague, but any ideas how I can identify what the
problem
might be?
