I have some here that are rated to 10 amps that are from some form of
kettle.

what I have is a standard powerstrip with the normal plug chopped off
and an IEC plug on it. The UPS has an overload of somesort on it that
shuts it down if there is too much drawn, and on a 450VA one its a lot
less then even 6 amps!

While I know you people in the UK love your fuses in the plugs, they
are
only needed because the ring can deliver much more current then the
mains lead of most appliances can carry safley. The UPS will not do
this
so fuses are not really needed here. If you _really_ want one, then get
an IEC extension cable, chop the end off it and put a normal mains
socket there, and plug in a fused powerstrip with a 2amp or whatever
fuse in the plug of that. Saves messing around trying to find an inline
holder.
