Re: BioLogin 3 & Compaq Fingerprint Readers

Hi Nik,
I'm a Visual Basic programmer in my spare time, but I couldn't promise that I could get it to work satisfactorily for you, as I do not know what the SDK's interface is (otherwise I would have made an attempt already.) But if you know any programmers here who you are confident could manage it, I wouldn't mind trying to help. Here's a small FAQ I found on the website: http://www.identix.com/support/itsecurity/sdkfaq.asp

Lee Edward Causier.

P.S. I just recently got hold of the Visual Basic for Applications Software Development Kit 6.3 off a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) I know (along with an MSDN binder) if anyone needs to incorporate VBA into their apps - It's quite interesting. Signing off.

I'm happy to contribute a few quid for this cause.
But I'm not a programmer, so it's useless to me. Is there any volunteer?
Maybe for us with scanner to contribute towards that software.
Cheers,
Nik

Dear Group,
What I believe you require is the BioLogon SDK, which allows you to interface with BioLogon and the DFR-200(?) drivers to use the fingerprint scanner in your own applications, for, well, whatever. You need to contact

Bannerbridge PLC - Neil Kinsman - 0870 870 1220

for information and pricing regarding this. Last time I check it was £130. Oh, and b.t.w., if you do buy it, could you let me have a look, cos there's no other way I'm gonna get hold of it - my income is severely limited.

Yours Sincerely,

Lee Edward Causier.

This was the sole reason I purchased mine as well... (can you spot a pattern
here!)

Mine have also been on the shelf since I got them (I have no need to use
biologon to my own PC's!), so again this is one of those "when I get a round
to it" type jobs....

Like you, I also have absolutely no idea how to even start going about
this...
