how about a teac reference 100 or a denon dm30 ??
 
both have CD and tuner as well - but you might want to listen to something other than the bedroom source :-)

PS. how much did the kustom stuff cost in the end and which supplier did you use ?

My Kustom multi-zone amp is now in and working like a treat with
various ceiling speakers. I didn't have enough zones to do the
master bedroom en-suite but decided to use the line out from the
bedroom zone to power a separate amp which in turn drives a stereo
to mono speaker (sounds pretty good though).

I need a recommendation for a small dedicated amp and volume control
(which has got to look good and be small-ish). Any thoughts?
Probably should be remotely controllable to fit in with everything
else (IR or other).
